Trendsetters on stage, Part 1
The 85th Geneva Motor Show
The motor show in Geneva has a long history going back over 100 years. The show was initiated by Paul Buchet, chief agent by Michelin Switzerland, businessman Albert Vassali and Jules Megevet, an engineer. The first event with 59 exhibitors of automobiles and motorcycles took place in 1905 at the Geneva polling location "Batiment Electoral" and gained much success attracting more than 17.000 visitors. In subsequent years the show was presented occasionally but ultimately became a fixture where such models as the Clement (1905), Alfa Romeo 8C 2800 (1932), Ferrari Dino (1965) and Lamborghini Miura (1966) were launched. Today, the international Geneva Motor Show makes its home at the Palexpo at the airport, providing an impressive program making it to one of the five greatest auto shows in the world.

Maranello steeds conquer the gates of Rome!
Ferrari Cavalcade 2015 in Rome
Rome, the Eternal City, built 753 BC ( before Christ), today more than 3.3 million occupants, the capital of two states - Italy, and the Vatican City. Terrific historical landmarks, like the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the St.Peter's Basilica are just a few to name. St. Peter's Basilica is the largest Roman Catholic Church in the world. Internally it is around 186 metres in the length and 136.50 metres from the ground to the cross on top of the dome. It took more than 120 years to build this incredible edifice, and in 1980, it was joined together with the Vatican City, and the old town of Rome, to UNESCO world cultural heritage. The magical Italien atmosphere and appeal attracted many brilliant minds and philosophers like Aristotle. And Goethe spent a significant amount of time in Rome, albeit under a false identity, he assumed the role of a painter to experience the soul and the lightness of being an Italien from Rome. Another very famous place is the Trevi Fountain, a late baroque sculptured masterpiece by Nicola Salvi, which was also the location for Federico Fellini's film "La Dolce Vita (1960)", where actress Anita Ekberg played a key scene amid the water of the fountain.

McLaren's Disco Inferno!
McLaren at the Geneva motor show 2015
The styling and visual language of all McLaren cars is inspired by Formula 1 racing innovations and advanced aerodynamics. Shrink- wrapping the bodywork over the car's mechanical skeleton, for example, reduces volume, removes weight and helps improve the car's aerodynamic performance. It also creates an optimised visual design; lean, potent and beautiful to look at. It is directly comparable with a fashion couture house. Chanel is a great example of this in the way that it works, regularly launching new collections and developing them with the utmost perfection.
Is McLaren like a fashion house?
McLaren very much uses the design and work ethics of major fashion houses like Chanel does. You could also compare them to a very skilled tailor or seamstress, in that you create a dress or a suit by following a pattern, and you keep working on this pattern or method until you get it absolutely perfect. McLaren also offers their cars in various lines and categories, just as a fashion couture house does, that can be tailored to suit the customer's taste, style and requirements, for example: Sport Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series.

The new generation!
The McLaren P1 GTR concept
Every car created is designed with an aim. A stated objective that defines the car and so the philosophy of everything for a reason started with race driver Bruce McLaren. It's part of the McLaren DNA and underpins every design and engineering decision they make. Bruce founded 1965 the McLaren Racing that is second only to Scuderia Ferrari, the most successful team in the history of Formula One, and hold the record of fifteen victories in one season (1988). Today the racing company is part of the British McLaren group.

The only one of its kind
The one-off Lamborghini Pregunta Concept- simply stunning unique & wild
Some
cars just write history. Maybe one day even the limited version of
the Lamborghini Veneno will do (review to follow). The Pregunta, a V12 Roadster was offered
in April 2013 by the French company Autodrome for 1,6 Million Euros and whether a buyer has been found, also there are only vague speculation.
